Lyrics

Let The Music Play

Verse 1

Heavy fog obscures my vision
I can't see you
But I know that you are there
Evoking thoughts of unbridled passion
An eerie silence fills the air

Chorus

Hold On...Hold On
Let The Music Play
Hold On
...Hold On
As we sail towards another day

 Verse 2

A band of light glows on the horizon
I can't see You
But I know that You are there
And for a moment
I catch a glimpse of Heaven
Angelic voices fill the air

Chorus
Hold On
...Hold On
Let The Music Play
Hold On
...Hold On
As we sail towards another day

I n s t r u m e n t a l

Bridge
The circle of light
Is rousing my soul
My skin's as cold as ice
But deep inside
My heart is aflame
Pumping lava through my veins
From darkness to light
Where night skies are blue
The pinnacle of my life
Is right here and now
As I hold on to you

Chorus
Hold On
...Hold On
Let The Music Play
(Let The Music Play)
Hold On
...Hold On
As we sail into another day
(I watch you drift away)

Hold On
...Hold On
Let The Music Play
(Let The Music Play)
Hold On
...Hold On

As we sail into another day
Right now it seems so far away
I'm here I'll let the music play
And watch you drift away

Story Behind The Song

Inspired by a recent trip sailing into the Arctic Circle. We were alongside a massive iceberg but, due to persistent fog, we couldn't see it (hence, 'I can't see you but I know that you are there'). The film The Titanic immediately came to mind - the Rose and Jack steamy car windows scene (unbridled passion), the scene where people were clutching whatever they could to stay afloat (Hold On), and the quartet still playing 'Nearer My God To Thee' as the ship went down (Let The Music Play).

A while later, the fog lifted and the sky was a dismal grey, with a vibrant band of light along the horizon. I knew it was where the 24/7 blue sky was.. Also, I felt a Divine Presence ('I can't see you but I know that You are there'). Then we sailed into the brightest blue sky - it was totally overwhelming - what I envisage arriving in Heaven to be like ('the pinnacle of my life')!

Finally, I give much credit to operatic/rock duo Braximusic (Max and Brandi) for firing up this song in me (hence, 'angelic voices fill the air....unbridled passion....Let The Music Play'). Their shows onboard were breathtaking. They are majestic at what they do.
